Transferrable Skills
In-depth problem analysis and discussion – I have been debating competitively for over 8 years.
Public speaking – I give a 3D Printing induction lecture once a week at University, I regularly conducted House Assemblies at school, lectured at the school’s Science Society.
Self-learning – I am very quick to pick up new technical skills, such as prototyping with Arduino and Raspberry Pi, which I learnt from various books and internet articles. My favourite way to self-learn is by choosing a personal project that I require new skills to complete, that way I learn the skill and also get to make a project.
Communication – I am experienced editing videos and films in Adobe Premiere Pro, Lightworks and iMovie. I use Fusion 360 to render design ideas, generate engineering drawings and animate assembly models. A keen photographer, I have shot for and type-set various school magazines.
Safety – As a Scouts leader I am qualified in emergency aid and experienced in running risk analyses for various activities. In team projects, I always make sure everybody is working safely around potential hazards. A climbing and abseil instructor in-training, I understand safety procedure in high-risk environments.
Project Management – I have managed many group projects, scheduling meetings, setting deadlines, procuring materials and managing communication channels.
